Allergy Free Feather & Down Bedding

All our duvets & pillows are hypo allergenic. Our filling is properly processed to remove dust mite. Dust mite are microscopically small organisms that feed on dander that the geese have shed and are left in the feather after plucking. Our feathers and down are properly de-dusted to remove all dander particles. It is then washed in an anti-bacterial soap and blown through a tube with UV C light which leaves the down hypo allergenic.

Dust mite love warm, humid conditions, and because down breathes better there are less moisture buildup compared to synthetics. Processed down and feather are therefore not a preferred living environment for dust mite. The tight weave of our down proof fabrics will also retard dust mite penetrating our products.

General Advice on Allergies

  • A study (Feb 2005) by Kingston University (London UK) shows that by leaving your bed unmade each morning allows the sheets and mattress to dry out. This will reduce the number of dust mites substantially.
  • Use a damp mop or rag to remove dust. Never use a dry cloth or broom, since this just stirs up mite allergens.
  • Extended exposure to sunlight kills mite. Put your mattress and loose carpets out in the sun.
  • Regularly place soft toys in the freezer for 24 hours before you wash them.
  • Open the windows up often to air the house.
  • Remove carpeting and replace with wood, tile, linoleum, or vinyl floor covering.
  • Remove cloth drapes and heavy curtains, replace with blinds if possible.
